MoBerry - Moldovan berries ready for international markets
MoBerry is based on modern technologies and equipment, processing the raw material to a minimum to keep the nutritional value and all the micronutrients in the berries.
Nine agricultural enterprises from different parts of the country, all members of the association "Pomușoarele Moldovei" created a cooperative of entrepreneurs called "MoBerry", which was registered in mid-October 2016. They have already managed to present their products at the main exhibitions with agricultural profile in the country - Moldagrotech / Farmer 2016 where they came up with something new for the Moldovan market.
"One of the objectives of this association of entrepreneurs in the Center of Excellence format was to stimulate the growth of large-scale berries to ensure the market with fresh and processed quality products. The creation of large batches, on which berries are grown will ensure a stable market supply. through the network of stores and will provide the necessary amount of product to enter foreign markets "- said the Commercial Director of MoBerry, Aneta Ganenco.
The formation of this cooperative and the guarantee of production volumes allowed the creation of new types of products made from berries. The ones from MoBerry are based on modern technologies and equipment, processing to a minimum the raw material to keep the nutritional value and all the micronutrients in the berries. The same choice was made because current demand trends focus on the consumption of functional and healthy foods, and this niche in Moldova is not yet fully occupied, especially during the cold periods of the year.
"The specialists from the cooperative examined the global trends in berry processing and learned new technologies that can be applied in our country. We managed to create fundamentally new products for Moldovan consumers, but we tried to bring back older recipes. The results of our experiments were presented at the Moldagrotech / Farmer 2016 exhibition. Tastings of our products were organized for four days, and consumers appreciated them, considering them very tasty "- added Aneta Ganenco.
Already in 2017, it is planned to supply to stores in the country natural products from seasonal berries, with the addition of other fruits, seeds or nuts. The first type - is the candy (peltea type) made of fruits and berries, which is made in about 15 varieties. Secondly, it's about the jams and jams in the berries. In addition, MoBerry plans to produce a variety of small and comfortable gift sets that will contain berries and berry juices made from berries and honey. These are just some of MoBerry's future plans.
Pectin-rich fruits such as apricots, apples, pears, plums and quinces are used to make pelta. From these, a puree is prepared, to which fresh berries are added: raspberries, blackberries, currants, chokeberry, sea buckthorn, gooseberry and others. The raw material goes through several processing steps. No sugar is used in the production process, the sweet taste being ensured either by berries and fruits, or a small amount of honey is added to the recipe. No dyes, emulsifiers or artificial starch are used.
Jams and jams are made from chokeberry, raspberries, red and blackberries, pigeons, horns, ziziphus and other berries.
Also, jams and jams are produced from traditional Moldovan berries (red and green gooseberry, sea buckthorn, wild rose, various varieties of blackberries), products that can successfully compete on the local market.
"Pelteaua can perfectly replace candies and chocolates. This is an excellent product for those suffering from diabetes and for people who lead a healthy lifestyle and take care of their figure.
But our main goal is to manufacture products that could meet the most demanding export requirements. In addition to the works related to the formation of new plantations of berries, we carry out various activities to modernize the production process and staff training. Preparations are underway for the implementation of the integrated food quality and safety system.
We also continue to study market demand and consumer preferences. For this purpose, MoBerry participated in the Farmer 2016, Indagra exhibitions in Bucharest, and at the end of November he will participate in the exhibition Made in Moldova in Iași. Romania is a traditional producer of berry products, and Moldovan farmers want to compare our products with similar ones made by colleagues in Romania.
MoBerry intends, in addition to the activities mentioned above, to deal with the growth and marketing of high quality planting material, the organization of mobile stations for fruit and berry collection in the Central, North and South regions, to provide consulting services and sales assistance. berries for other domestic producers. "- explained Aneta Ganenco.
